New VGK Ball Hockey Rink at Lorenzi Park to be Unveiled with Support from LGBTQ+ Allies
Vegas Golden Knights

The city of Las Vegas is set to unveil a brand new ball hockey rink at Lorenzi Park on Thursday, April 13. The VGK Ball Hockey Rink at Lorenzi Park was made possible through a donation from the Vegas Golden Knights (VGK) Foundation, with support from the National Hockey League (NHL) and LGBTQ+ allies.

The VGK Ball Hockey Rink at Lorenzi Park is an exciting addition to the Las Vegas community. It will be operated and maintained by the city, with VGK committed to hosting street hockey clinics at the rink with players, alumni, and youth hockey instructors for a minimum of five years. In addition, VGK plans to host periodic activities and initiatives at the new rink.

The ribbon-cutting and puck-drop ceremony will be emceed by Dave Goucher, VGK TV play-by-play announcer. Former VGK player Deryk Engelland and others from the VGK staff will also host a ball hockey clinic for students from nearby Twin Lakes Elementary School.

Councilman Cedric Crear, Ward 5, City of Las Vegas, will be present at the ceremony, along with Kerry Bubolz, President of VGK, and Rob Knesaurek, NHL Senior Vice President of Youth Development and Industry Growth.

This is a great opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community to come together and celebrate the opening of the VGK Ball Hockey Rink at Lorenzi Park. The donation from the VGK Foundation and support from the NHL and LGBTQ+ allies underscores the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces for everyone in the community.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the unveiling ceremony on Thursday, April 13 at 10 a.m. at the VGK Ball Hockey Rink at Lorenzi Park located at 3333 W. Washington Ave.
